PNN/ Jerusalem/ Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), Dr. Saeb Erekat is in stable condition, following reports of the deterioration of his health condition and moving him from his home in Jericho to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem on a respirator. Today, Erekat's family confirmed to Wafa, Palestine News Agency, that his health status is stable, adding that Erekat is still in the intensive care unit and undergoing artificial respiration. In a statement issued this morning, Hadassah Hospital said that the health condition of Erekat had deteriorated, adding that he was sedated and connected to a respirator. Statement added that "Erekat's treatment poses a great challenge, especially since he underwent a lung transplant that affects the immune system, and has a bacterial infection, in addition to the Corona virus." Erekat tested positive of the virus 10 days ago. Meanwhile, Israelis of the  extreme right wing are demonstrating outside of the emergency rooms of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, against Erekat's permission to receive treatment. The demonstrators accuse Erekat of supporting and financing what they describe as terrorism, and of being responsible for the killing of dozens of Israelis in operations carried out by Palestinians in recent years, and his failure to recognize the existence of Israel, and they also accuse him of calling for a boycott of it.
Erekat's daughter, Dr. Dalal, said that her father needed the ECMO, a medical machine that is not available in Palestinian hospitals.
