The EU High Representative Kaja Kallas stated, "I discussed with the Prime Minister the Arab plan for Gaza, which is something that the European Union supports as a basis. We will play our part in Gaza's reconstruction," stressing that EU firmly believes that the Palestinian Authority should govern Gaza and that it will continue providing support to the Palestinian government as it assumes its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip.
"The EU’s relations with Palestine is getting stronger. In less than a month, we will be holding our first ever high-level political dialogue in Brussels with Palestine—an important basis for increase our cooperation in many areas for years to come," Kallas added.
She further stressed that Israel’s actions in the West Bank, including destruction, forced displacement, rising settler violence, and accelerated settlement expansion, are undermining the prospect of the two-State solution, when it is really the only path to sustainable peace.
