"Extremist settlers forcefully stormed the house of the Sub Laban family in the Al-Khaldeya neighborhood of the Old City in Jerusalem, under the protection of the occupation police and army.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation police, reinforced by special units, set up military checkpoints at the entrance of Al-Khaldeya neighborhood in the Old City and besieged the house and properties owned by the Sub Laban family.

Occupation police forces raided the house and began, under the threat of weapons, to evacuate the Sub Laban family members from the house after forcing them to empty its contents. The occupation forces also started emptying it in preparation for eviction and handing it over to the settlers.

The occupation forces prevented solidarity activists from reaching the Sub Laban family house and arrested one of the activists in the vicinity of the house.

The settlers forcefully took control of the house after it was stormed by the occupation forces and evacuated its owners, as well as arresting the activists accompanying them.

Occupation forces arrested five activists from inside the Sub Laban family house in Jerusalem.

Following the raid, the occupation forces forced the Sub Laban family to empty the contents of their house in preparation for taking control of it. The settlers entered it after forcibly expelling the family at gunpoint and under the threat of death.

It is worth mentioning that the "Enforcement and Execution Department" has set the period between June 28 and July 13 for the family to evacuate their house.

Earlier, the occupation had previously set June 11 as the date for the family to vacate the house, but it was unable to implement the decision.

The eviction order came after the Israeli Supreme Court issued a previous decision to terminate the protected lease contract for the elderly couple, Nora Sub Laban (68 years old) and Mustafa Sub Laban (72 years old), in order to make way for the seizure of the property by the "Galtzia" settlement association, which has been seeking to evict the family since 2010.

Previously, the Israeli courts evicted the rest of the family in 2016 and prevented the children from living with their parents, resulting in the family's dispersion.

The Sub Laban family house is located a few meters from Al-Aqsa Mosque and has been rented from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan since 1953 under a protected lease.

In 2010, the "Galtzia Settlement Association" claimed that the family's house is a Jewish religious endowment (waqf), based on which the occupation courts decided to terminate the protected lease for the family and evict them from the house. This was preceded by several sessions and different decisions starting in the 1980s in an attempt to seize ownership of the house.

The family previously appealed to the international community and the United Nations to urgently intervene to stop their forced displacement and the seizure of their house."
