Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) is assisting Khalil Suleiman Hospital in Jenin by providing medical care in its emergency room following the aerial and ground military strikes on the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank. These attacks have resulted in the death of seven Palestinians so far and more than 90 injuries according to Palestinian health authorities. The incursion began earlier on Monday morning, and seven Israeli soldiers were reportedly injured.

In this regard, Giovanna Arsenijevic, the project coordinator in Jenin, says, "Our team here is providing medical care in the emergency room at Khalil Suleiman Hospital following the Israeli airstrikes in Jenin. The number of injured has been increasing throughout the day, and our team remains there to support the medical staff and assistants at the hospital. As of now, we have treated 64 patients out of the total injured in Khalil Suleiman Hospital, including journalists. Ten of the patients are still in critical condition."

Arsenijevic adds, "This unprecedented escalation is horrifying and alarming. Despite weeks of violence and unrest in the city of Jenin, today's level of violence is highly dangerous." Today witnessed the highest number of casualties in Jenin in a single day since the beginning of the year.

Palestinian government media outlets have reported that Ibn Sina Hospital was also targeted with gunfire. Doctors Without Borders condemns the indiscriminate use of violence in Jenin, as it constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law. Medical infrastructure and civilian properties should not be targeted, and firing upon them is unacceptable.
