The ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates affirmed that the first convoy of 85 Palestinians has left the Sudanese capital heading toward Port Sudan, a port city in eastern Sudan, for evacuation, after Sudan’s sudden slide into conflict between the army and a paramilitary group called Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The ministry, in a statement, said that other convoys carrying around 259 Palestinians has also taken off toward the borders with Egypt for evacuation.
This came at the instructions of foreign minister, Reyad al-Malki, with joint efforts from the Palestinian military intelligence, the general intelligence service, partner institutions and ministries, and our embassies in Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan.
