Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh Tuesday headed the opening of the Palestinian-European Joint Committee special annual meeting in his office in Ramallah.
The committee, which includes 6 subcommittees, discussed various aspects of dealings between the Palestinian and European sides in several sectors such as the education, health, energy, economy, trade, justice, water, social development, and public money, including the political aspect.
The Palestinian side called for a European boycott of settlement products and holding European companies and individuals working and investing in illegal settlements on the lands of the Palestinian state accountable, in addition to providing international protection for Palestinian people, in light of the escalation of terrorism and violence of the occupation army and settlers.
Representatives of 15 commissions participated, including energy, climate, foreign affairs, trade, and humanitarian support, in addition to some representatives of European Union countries in Palestine, as well as the European Union representative, Sven Kon von Burgsdorff.
