The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Saturday, commencing, concurrently in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the submission of nomination applications of electoral lists interested in participating in the 2026 Legislative Elections.

The CEC stated that starting 8:00 am; it began receiving nomination applications in its HQ in Al-Bireh, and its office in Dier al-Balah in the Gaza Strip. The process extends over 12 days concluding 4:00 pm Wednesday, October 7.

Furthermore, the CEC clarified that nomination for the membership of the Legislative Council is available through electoral lists only, and no individual nomination applications will be accepted.

The number of candidates per electoral lists is no less than 16 and does not exceed 132 candidates, meanwhile committing to the minimum representation of women in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The CEC emphasized the readiness of its staff in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to receive nomination applications and provide guidance and necessary information to electoral lists representatives. The CEC invites all those interested in nomination to review the bulletins, procedures and forms published on its website (www.elections.ps), to ensure completing all requirements before submitting applications.

The CEC invites electoral lists and their representatives to correspond with the CEC and its offices to inquire about the legal and technical aspects related to the nomination process, emphasizing its keenness to provide information equally and facilitate the procedures for submitting applications in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The nomination stage is one of the key stages according to the timeline of the 2026 Legislative Elections. Public polling is scheduled on Saturday, November 28, 2026.
