BETHLEHEM / PNN/
The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Thursday, succeeding in increasing the percentage of registrants for the 2026 Legislative Elections to 87.2%, after adding over 32 thousand new registrants to the voters’ registry, bringing the total number of registrants across all West Bank districts to more than one million, six hundred and twenty thousand voters (F/M), which considered a higher rate by local and international standards.
The CEC confirmed that the announced numbers are specific to voters’ registry in West Bank districts, and do not include the Gaza Strip or holders of Jerusalemite IDs, given that their right to participate in the elections is preserved without the need to register.
The CEC further clarified that approximately 410 thousand citizens (F/M) utilized their online registration during the registration period, which reflects a great interest from citizens to verify their registration.
The numbers were announced right after the conclusion of the voter registration stage yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, in accordance with the announced matrix of legal periods for the 2026 Legislative Elections.
The CEC starting today’s morning will launch the process of data entry of new registrants’ data, in preparation for exhibition of the final voters’ registry for public review and challenges during the period September 7-9, 2026 in all local authorities across the West Bank.
