HEBRON, West Bank / PNN /

Four women were killed and at least six others wounded on Wednesday evening when rocket shrapnel struck the town of Beit Awwa, southwest of Hebron, Palestinian medical and security officials said.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its crews recovered four women who were killed in the incident and transferred them to hospital. It added that emergency teams, along with ambulances from the nearby town of Dura, treated at least six injured women, whose conditions ranged from moderate to minor.

A Palestinian security source confirmed to PNN that the casualties were taken to Dura Government Hospital.

Local sources said the shrapnel hit a women’s beauty salon, injuring several النساء, some of them critically.

The Palestinian Civil Defense said the impact occurred at a salon located in a metal caravan structure adjacent to a residential home, causing serious injuries among those inside.

Residents reported that fragments of rockets fell in several areas across Hebron governorate, including Hebron city and the town of Deir Samet.

In a statement, the Emergency Media Committee said civil defense crews, police explosive ordnance units and medical teams were working to secure the site and deal with the aftermath.

The committee urged residents to remain in safe areas, avoid sites where debris has fallen and refrain from gathering to allow emergency responders to operate.

Since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran on Feb. 28, Palestinian authorities say multiple incidents involving falling rocket debris have been recorded across the West Bank, causing injuries and property damage.ً

Police have repeatedly warned residents not to approach or handle unidentified objects or missile remnants, citing the risk of unexploded or hazardous materials.

Authorities called on the public to report any such objects immediately and to follow safety instructions until specialized teams secure the area.
