Two women and a 12-year-old girl were killed on Sunday when tank shells hit two tents in the Abu Shemeis camp for displaced people in central Gaza, according to Awda Hospital. A six-month-old boy was also seriously injured in the attack.

The camp is located about five kilometres (three miles) from the so-called Yellow Line separating Israeli-controlled areas from the rest of Gaza.

Among the dead was journalist Amal Shamali, who worked for Radio Qatar, the hospital said.

The Palestinian News Agency reported that paramedic Abdul Rahman Hamdouna was also killed in an Israeli airstrike west of Gaza City.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said seven more bodies and 17 injured people were brought to hospitals across Gaza in the past 24 hours, adding that some victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, where ambulance and rescue crews have been unable to reach them.

According to the ministry, the overall death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza since 7 October 2023 has reached 72,133, with 171,826 people injured.

Since the ceasefire that took effect on 10 October 2025, 648 Palestinians have been killed, 17,728 injured, and 755 bodies recovered, the ministry said.
