The Palestinian Presidency strongly denounced the dangerous decisions approved by the Israeli cabinet aimed at deepening attempts to annex the occupied West Bank, considering them a continuation of the comprehensive war waged by the Israeli government against Palestinians, and an unprecedented escalation targeting the Palestinian presence and its national and historical rights throughout the Palestinian territory, especially in the occupied West Bank.
The Presidency warned of the grave implications of these decisions, which represent the practical implementation of annexation and displacement plans. These decisions also violate all agreements signed between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel, as well as international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, and constitute a blatant violation of the Oslo Accords and the Hebron Agreement.
The Presidency said the decisions reflect an open Israeli attempt to legalize settlement expansion, land confiscation, and the demolition of Palestinian properties, even in areas under Palestinian sovereignty.
It also warned of the dangers of any infringement upon Islamic and Christian holy sites, emphasizing that any violation of the Ibrahimi Mosque and the transfer of authority over it are unacceptable. The Presidency held the occupying power fully responsible for the continued attacks on holy sites, aimed at igniting tensions, particularly with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Presidency affirmed that these illegitimate and illegal decisions are null and void, granting no legitimacy and carry no legal consequences. It reiterated that international laws reject settlement activity, annexation attempts, and the displacement of Palestinians under any pretext.
It called upon the international community, particularly the Security Council and the U.S administration, to intervene immediately and take decisive action to halt these dangerous Israeli decisions, which threaten all international efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent further escalation in the region.
In conclusion, The Presidency affirmed that the Palestinian people and their legitimate leadership, represented by the Palestine Liberation Organization, will continue their struggle in defending their land and rights, and will not allow these plans to pass, and that the State of Palestine will be embodied as a free, independent, and fully sovereign state in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.
For his part Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, said that reports circulating about anticipated Israeli decisions to deepen annexation and impose new realities in the occupied West Bank, including Areas A, constitute a complete undermining of all signed and binding agreements, a dangerous escalation, and a blatant violation of international law.
He emphasized that these unilateral measures aim to eliminate any political prospects, obliterate the two-state solution, and drag the entire region into further tension and instability.
Al-Sheikh called on the U.S administration and the international community to intervene immediately to halt Israel's ongoing expansionist actions.
Also, the The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates slammed the Israeli cabinet's approval of a series of decisions, condemning Israel's desperate attempts to impose a fait accompli through colonial settlement activity and to alter the legal status and legal status of the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.
The Ministry stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over any of the cities or territories of the occupied State of Palestine, and that as an occupying power, it has no right to repeal or amend laws, including Jordanian laws and legislation that are part of the laws of the State of Palestine.
It also affirmed that this approval constitutes a declaration of a full-fledged war crime, calling on states and international institutions to reject and condemn this crime and to open a criminal investigation into the war crime being committed by the so-called "Settlement Division" and the official bodies of the Israeli occupation.
The Ministry said that such decisions amount to a de facto annexation of Palestinian land, which contradicts the vision of US President Trump and his rejection of annexation and settlement activity. It called on him to intervene and pressure Israel to reverse these decisions, which undermine security, peace, and stability in the region.
