The European Union welcomed the launch of Phase Two of the United States’ 20-point plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza, saying the move marked an important step toward stabilizing the territory.
In a statement, the EU said it particularly welcomed the nomination of a Palestinian National Committee to administer Gaza, with the backing of the Palestinian Authority, as outlined in U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803.
The bloc said it remains ready to support peace efforts in Gaza through humanitarian aid, security assistance, diplomatic engagement and development cooperation.
The EU also called for the full implementation of the peace plan, including the disarmament of Hamas, the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of the devastated enclave.
