Israeli Extremes settlers set fire to a classroom at Jalud Mixed Secondary School, south of Nablus, in the early hours of Friday, vandalising the premises with racist graffiti in an attack that caused extensive damage, local sources said.

Residents said settlers infiltrated the school compound before dawn, torched one of the classrooms and fled the scene, leaving behind hate slogans intended to intimidate students and teachers.

Samer Al-Jamal, director general of education in southern Nablus, condemned the assault, describing it as a direct attack on the education system and on students’ right to safe learning. He called on human rights organisations and international bodies to intervene urgently to halt repeated settler attacks on schools.

Jalud Mixed Secondary School has been subjected to frequent settler assaults in recent years, according to local officials.

A day earlier, three Palestinians were injured and several vehicles were burned in a separate settler attack on a plant nursery in the town of Deir Sharaf, west of Nablus.

Local sources said a group of settlers stormed the Al-Juneidi nursery, beating those inside with sticks and kicking them. Three men were injured, including a 65-year-old who suffered a broken arm, while two others sustained bruises and wounds. All were taken to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said settlers torched five vehicles — four inside the nursery and another nearby — causing heavy damage.

The incidents come amid a surge in settler violence against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank, often carried out under the protection of Israeli forces. Palestinian officials have repeatedly urged the international community to hold those responsible accountable.
