As part of its collective punishment policy, the Israeli occupation forces closed all entrances to the southern West Bank city of Hebron and nearby towns and villages following a shooting attack targeting settlers near the southern entrance to the city, according to Palestinian security and local sources.
Shooters opened fire at a car with settlers inside it this morning near the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba as reports said one passenger in the car was killed and another was seriously wounded.
A large army force sealed off the area and all entrances to nearby Palestinian towns and villages causing serious traffic jams.
Israel similarly imposed collective punishment on the northern West Bank city of Nablus and area towns and villages following an attack on Saturday in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, that left two Israelis dead. The army closed all entrances to Nablus city and nearby towns, preventing movement, while raiding homes allegedly in search of the perpetrator of the attack.
Usually, settlers are allowed free movement in these areas to attack Palestinian homes and cars without any attempt by the army to stop them.
