US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken affirmed that the United States of America is advancing peace efforts between Israel and the Arab countries in the Middle East, and is also working to improve the daily life of the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Blinken stressed during a press conference with the Prime Minister of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, that Washington's goal is to reach a situation in which Palestinians and Israelis enjoy equal measures of freedom, security, opportunities, justice and dignity, stressing President Joe Biden's commitment to this goal.

He stressed that his country still believes that the best way to achieve this is by preserving the two-state vision and then achieving it.

"As I said to the prime minister, anything that takes us away from the vision of a two-state solution is, in our estimation, detrimental to Israel's long-term security and its long-term identity as a Jewish and democratic state,", That is why we urge all parties now to take urgent steps to restore calm and de-escalate tensions ,Blinken said.

Blinken added :”We want to make sure that there is an environment in which we can, hopefully, at some point create the conditions in which we can begin to restore a sense of security for both Israelis and Palestinians, which of course is sorely lacking right now,.

Blinken also affirmed that his country is committed to supporting coexistence and religious diversity, including in the city of Jerusalem, stressing Washington's support for preserving the current historical situation in the holy places in Jerusalem as it is, including the Noble Sanctuary.
