The Israeli occupation forces, on the second day of the new year, killed two Palestinians and wounded three others, one of them critical, and demolished two homes in the town of Kufr Dan, in the north of the West Bank, according to the Ministry of Health and local sources.

The Ministry of Health said the Israeli army killed Mohammad Samer Houshieh, 22, after being shot in the chest, and Fouad Mahmoud Abed, 25, after he was shot in the belly and thigh. Three others were wounded, one on them hit in the chest and reported in critical condition.

A large force raided Kufr Dan town, west of Jenin, to demolish the homes of Ahmad Ayman Abed and Abdul Rahman Hani Abed, who were killed during an attack on 14 September of last year at Jalama military checkpoint that left one Israeli soldier dead,

Clashes broke out with the soldiers who opened live fire at the Palestinians killing two and wounding three others before blowing up three apartments that belong to the immediate families of the two attackers displacing 13 people who became homeless.

Fot his part Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today condemned the Israeli army killing earlier of two young Palestinians and called on the countries that voted in favor of requesting a legal advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination to take immediate measures to provide protection for the Palestinian people.

The Prime Minister's call came following a new crime by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Kufr Dan, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, which resulted in the killing of two young men, Mohammad Samer Hoshieh and Fouad Mahmoud Abed.

He said that this crime reflects the thinking and behavior of the perpetrators, who continue their crimes without fear of being held accountable or punished, holding the occupation authorities fully responsible for the repercussions that may result from the daily killings and incursions.

Last year, the Israeli forces killed 224 Palestinians in the occupied territories, 52 of them were in the Gaza Strip.
