Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, met today in Ramallah with the United Nations Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, during which they discussed the latest developments in Palestine.
They further discussed the daily brutal attacks of the occupation army and settlers against Palestinians, the storming into Palestinian cities, villages, and camps, and the killing of innocent people, such as the Israeli army killing on Sunday night of 15-year-old Jana Zakarneh in Jenin.
He demanded the UN provide international protection for the Palestinian people and end their historical injustice in accordance with international law.
Wennesland said in a tweet that he reiterated to al-Sheikh that the UN “will remain actively engaged with the parties to counter negative trends and bring them back on a political path that will end the occupation and realize a two-state solution based on the 1967 lines.”
