Bethlehem Governor Kamel Hamid said today that the Israeli occupation continuous incursions into Bethlehem threaten christmas holiday celebrations in the coming dayes and weeks.

In response to a question maud by Palestine News Network PNN Editor in cheef Monjed jadou the bethlehem, Governor indicated that the Israeli occupation aims to send an incorrect and false message that Bethlehem city is an unstable and not safe and live under difficult security situation.

He added that:"We say otherwise and we say the opposite," stressing that the Bethlehem governorate and city are stable. Its situation is good, pointing out that reservations in hotels by tourists, pilgrims and clerics are increasing.

He explained that the Bethlehem Governorate is subjected to daily organized raids by the Israeli occupation forces, noting that some of these incursions take place during the day, as the one happened yesterday, Tuesday, when the occupation forces stormed the areas classified as “A.”

Governor Hamid stressed that these incursions are unnecessary from a security perspective, and that their aim is to sabotage law and order and to distract and embarrass the Palestinian security forces, noting that there is nothing in the governorate that calls for these Israeli incursions.

He pointed out that the Bethlehem Governorate is subjected to three or four demolitions on a weekly basis, in different areas such as Al Walaja, Al Khader, Kisan, Al Makhroor, Arab Al Rashaida and others, stressing that the incursions and demolitions spread a state of fear, anticipation and instability among Bethlehem citizens and Pilgrims and tourists.

The Governor of Bethlehem called on the international community, the Vatican and all human rights institutions to work and pressure the Israeli government to stop its systematic attacks on Bethlehem.
