The CEC announces the Legal Periods for the 2026 Legislative Elections

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced today, Wednesday, the table of legal periods for the 2026 Legislative Elections, scheduled for November 28, 2026, in accordance with the Presidential Decree issued for this purpose, and in line with the provisions of the General Elections Law No. (1) of 2007, and its amendments.

The CEC clarified that voter registration centers in the West Bank will open its doors Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, for a period of 5 days, to be closed on Wednesday evening, August 19, 2026.

Concerning the nomination stage, submission of nomination applications will be open on Saturday morning, September 26, 2026, for a period of 12 days, and shall be closed on Wednesday evening, October 7, 2026. Meanwhile, electoral campaigning will be launched starting Friday, November 6, 2026, for a period of 21 days. Electoral campaigning activities shall be halted – electoral silence/blackout, on Friday, November 27, 2026.

Early voting for members of security forces will be conducted on November 26, 2026, whereas polling day for the general public will be Saturday, November 28, 2026.

Preliminary results of the elections are planned to be announced within 24 hours of its preparation, however, final results will be published within two weeks of polling day, after concluding all legal challenges and appeals of the results, in accordance with the law.
