Nablus / PNN/
Settlers stormed the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, on Thursday, under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces.
Mohammad Azem, head of the Sebastia Municipal Council, reported that several settlers, apparently including Israeli officials and ministers, entered the town’s archaeological area under strict military protection.
The area has been repeatedly subjected to incursions by the occupation and its settlers, sometimes resulting in confrontations.
Sebastia suffers from a systematic policy of land annexation and settlement under flimsy pretexts, posing an existential threat to its future, its residents, and the Palestinian cultural heritage.
