The Israeli army continued violating the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on the 47th day since the truce began, carrying out air and artillery strikes and demolishing homes in areas behind the “Yellow Line,” including Khan Younis in the south and Jabalia in the north.
The eastern areas of the Strip witnessed intense military escalation, with the army conducting artillery shelling and tank fire inside the Yellow Line east of Jabalia, alongside military raids and house demolitions in the area.
Airstrikes and shelling also targeted Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis, further heightening the security tensions in the Strip.
In the north, the eastern parts of Jabalia were subjected to heavy artillery fire, widening the scope of the escalation. The Nasser Medical Complex reported the death of a civilian from wounds sustained in Bani Suhaila due to Israeli army fire.
Displaced persons in the Strip continue to endure extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, especially with the recent weather system that flooded tents, while the occupation persists in blocking humanitarian aid necessary to alleviate their suffering.
The Palestinian Civil Defense said the tents are uninhabitable, calling on international bodies to provide safe caravans as a temporary alternative until reconstruction begins.
On the diplomatic front, efforts continue to move to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. Cairo hosted a high-level meeting of mediators and guarantors of the Gaza truce.
The meeting included Egyptian General Intelligence Chief Major General Hassan Rashad, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin, to discuss ways to enhance coordination with the United States to ensure compliance with the agreement and advance the truce process.
