Hundreds of displaced individuals have arrived in the city of Al Dabba in Sudan’s Northern State after a grueling journey of more than 1,200 kilometres, amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
With the humanitarian crisis in the region deepening, approximately 62,000 people have fled the city of Al Fasher, heading to the areas of Korma, Tawila and Qarni. Thousands of them remain stranded without transport or support, and dozens of families are still seeking means of transportation from Mellit and the surrounding areas to continue moving to safer zones.
The health circumstances of the displaced require urgent action, especially given the lack of medical services in the areas that have received them. The long and exhausting journey has had a significant impact on the elderly and children, who arrived in a severely weakened state, necessitating reinforcement of medical and humanitarian support in the shelter centres.
