Hundreds of displaced people have arrived in the city of Al‑Dabba in Sudan’s Northern State after a grueling journey of over 1,200 kilometres, amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
With the humanitarian crisis in the region deepening, around 62,000 people have fled the city of El Fasher, heading towards the areas of Korma, Tawila and Qarni. Thousands remain stranded without transport or support, and dozens of families are still searching for means of transportation from Mellit and nearby areas in order to continue their displacement toward safer regions.
The health conditions of the displaced require urgent intervention, especially given the lack of medical services in the areas where they have been received. The long and exhausting journey has significantly affected the elderly and children, who arrived in a state of severe fatigue, necessitating reinforced medical and humanitarian support in the shelter centres.
