 The Israeli occupation army discussed yesterday (Sunday) an American proposal to establish 16 points for distributing humanitarian aid inside the major cities of the Gaza Strip, with trucks from Israel and Egypt arriving when the Rafah Crossing is opened.
According to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, after studying the plan the army expressed reservations, emphasizing that there is no effective mechanism to prevent the aid from reaching the Hamas as long as distribution takes place within the cities and under the supervision of international bodies.
This stance comes after Benjamin Netanyahu and several ministers of the security cabinet asked the army to guarantee that Hamas would not benefit from the aid in any way, and to tighten oversight of the distribution mechanism to ensure it reaches civilians only.
