Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer is expected to visit Washington, D.C., on Thursday for high-level talks with senior U.S. administration officials on several key issues.
According to Israeli media, Dermer’s discussions will primarily focus on what Israel describes as Hamas’ non-compliance with the ceasefire terms, as well as ongoing efforts to draft a UN Security Council resolution outlining the mandate and operational framework of an International Security Force (ISF) to be deployed in the Gaza Strip.
The visit comes as Dermer announced plans to resign from his position within two weeks, making this his final official visit to the United States as Minister of Strategic Affairs.
