BETHLEHEM / PNN —

Hamas has delivered its response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal on Gaza to Egyptian and Qatari mediators, who are expected to pass it on to Washington, according to informed sources.

The sources said Hamas praised Trump’s efforts in its reply and requested clarifications on several points in the 21-point plan.

Israeli journalist Barak Ravid reported that Hamas expressed readiness to release all Israeli captives in line with Trump’s plan and signalled its willingness to immediately enter negotiations on the details.

Hamas also said it would contribute “responsibly” to a national dialogue on Gaza’s future, stressing that any governing body in the territory should be a professional Palestinian committee.

In its statement, the movement voiced appreciation for Arab, Islamic and international efforts, as well as for the U.S. president’s initiative calling for an end to the war in Gaza, a prisoner exchange, the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, rejection of any reoccupation of the Strip, and opposition to the displacement of Palestinians.

The group further declared its acceptance of transferring the administration of Gaza to a Palestinian body of independent technocrats, based on national consensus and backed by Arab and Islamic support.

On other issues raised in Trump’s proposal concerning Gaza’s long-term status and the Palestinians’ fundamental rights, Hamas said these must be addressed through a unified national framework, rooted in relevant international laws and resolutions. The group said it would take part in such a process and “contribute responsibly.”

Al Jazeera earlier reported that Hamas had formally conveyed its position through international intermediaries, though the contents were not initially disclosed. The network noted this was the first public indication that Hamas had delivered an official response, underscoring the continuing role of third-party mediators in efforts to manage the conflict.
