Israeli forces stormed a protest on Sunday at Ibn Rushd Roundabout in Hebron, which was organized to demand the return of the bodies of Palestinian martyrs. Security forces fired tear gas at participants, causing several cases of suffocation.
The demonstrators called for the release of 726 bodies held by Israeli authorities, including 67 children, 85 members of the Palestinian Prisoners’ movement, and 10 women. They urged human rights organizations and the United Nations to take serious action to secure the return of the bodies.
Notably, Israeli forces had previously suppressed a similar protest held last Monday in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, which resulted in 58 injuries from live and rubber bullets and tear gas.
