GAZA /PNN /

The Israeli occupation army continues its assault on Gaza for the 20th consecutive day, carrying out brutal airstrikes across various regions, leaving behind massive destruction and devastating loss of lives and property.

The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from the Israeli assault on Gaza has reached 7,028 martyrs, including 2,913 children, 1,709 women, and 397 elderly, with 18,484 citizens sustaining various injuries since October 7 of this year.

Israeli military aircraft and artillery launched a series of airstrikes on various areas in Gaza early Thursday.

Local sources indicated that Israeli military aircraft targeted the area of Abu al-Jidian roundabout in the Beit Lahia project in northern Gaza with multiple missiles and the vicinity of Al-Huda Mosque opposite the city of Sheikh Zayed.

Fifteen citizens were martyred, and over 60 others, most of them children, women, and the elderly, were injured in an airstrike by Israeli aircraft that targeted the home of the Abu Shamalah family.

Rescue operations are still ongoing, with significant difficulties in extracting bodies and injured individuals from beneath the rubble due to the extensive damage caused by the Israeli shelling.

United Nations: "No Safe Place in Gaza"

Lynn Hastings, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian territories, warned on Thursday that "there is no safe place in Gaza" due to the Israeli bombing that has been relentlessly targeting the strip since October 7.

Hastings stated in a press release published by the "France Press" agency that the prior warnings issued by the Israeli army to civilians to evacuate the areas it intends to target in the north of the Gaza Strip "make no difference," adding that "there is no safe place in Gaza."

She said, "When evacuation routes are shelled, when people in the north, as in the south, are exposed to acts of war, when the basic necessities for survival are not available, and when there is no guarantee of return, people are left with impossible choices."

Hastings added that wherever armed conflicts are governed by international humanitarian law, this means that civilians must be protected and possess the basic requirements to continue their lives wherever they choose, whether to relocate or stay.
