 President Mahmoud Abbas called today for the formation of a follow-up committee from the participants of the meeting of heads of Palestinian factions to complete the dialogue on various issues and files that were discussed today.

President Abbas asked the committee to start working immediately to accomplish its mission and to submit the agreements or recommendations it reaches, according to the final statement of the meeting of the heads of the Palestinian factions, which was held in Egypt’s El-Alamein city.

President Abbas said he considers today's meeting a first and important step to complete national dialogue, expressing hope that the desired goals will be achieved as soon as possible

He hoped that there would be another meeting soon in Egypt to announce the end of division and the restoration of Palestinian national unity.

President Abbas thanked President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for the generous gesture of hosting this meeting, and for his keenness that joint efforts be crowned with success to end the division and achieve Palestinian national unity.
