FIFA has stripped Indonesia of rights to host the Under-20 Men’s World Cup 2023 after protests and calls against Israel's participation, according to a statement by the global football’s governing body.

“FIFA has decided, due to the current circumstances, to remove Indonesia as the host of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023,” FIFA said in a statement. “A new host will be announced as soon as possible, with the dates of the tournament currently remaining unchanged.”

The statement also added that sanctions against the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) were possible.
