Sit-in on Friday at Al Aqsa Mosque in support of Palestinians struggling to preserve Jerusalem Print E-mail

Jerusalem / PNN - The Civil Association held a meeting today in Jerusalem to plan for a sit-in on Friday in support of the city and Al Aqsa Mosque.

Both the city and Mosque are under the continued menace of Israeli forces at several levels. Settlers have issued an ongoing threat to storm the first Qiblah and the third holiest site in Islam, while the military did just that twice on Sunday.

The Civil Association says it wants to demonstrate its support.

The President of the Association, Raji al-Hakim said on Wednesday that it is the responsibility of Islamic and Arab countries to stand by those who are resisting in Jerusalem.

He continued to ask that the state of division be mended in order to better confront the occupying Israeli administration, the only winner in the current internal Palestinian disrepair.

The protest on Friday will be held outside the Mosque for which al-Hakim reiterated his request that the Palestinian people be supported as they struggle to liberate Jerusalem.

“Defending Jerusalem is the responsibility of all Muslims in the world, and that includes all of the holy places because both Muslims and Christians are suffering Zionist efforts to Judaize the city. The Al Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre are both under threat.”
