Israeli and Palestinian sources: Israeli Mossad attempts to assassinate Jihad Jaara Print E-mail
07.08.08 - 10:36

ImageIreland / PNN – Jihad Jaara is in exile, still awaiting the promise that all from the Church of Nativity were given: that they would be able to return home. Yet still, six years later, he is Ireland. And according to the Israeli press Thursday, the Israeli security Mossad attempted to assassinate Jihad yesterday.

Jihad lived in Al Aroub Refugee Camp, north of Hebron, south of Bethlehem. He has children and is married.

Palestinian sources in Ireland said that while Jihad was on his way to the Palestine Liberation Organization building in the Irish capital, shots were fired from a passing car. He escaped unharmed.

Immediately afterwards another car hit his and he suffered minor injuries. The Irish police chased the car and arrested two suspects. Palestinian sources said in Ireland, “This leaves no room for doubt that it was an assassination attempt by Israeli Mossad.”

Jihad does not want to speak to the press right now.

In 2002 26 Palestinians were deported to the Gaza Strip and 13 were exiled to Europe after 40 days inside the Church without proper food, electricity, medical attention, water, or security. Jihad was the most "wanted" according to the Israelis. He had to be carried out of the Church due to the severity of his injuries. All of the deported and exiled were promised the Right of Return. They are still waiting.
