On Monday, 6th August, Palestinian Prisoners' Society revealed that Israel detains 4423 prisoners in 20 jails. Inmates are often held in poor conditions and suffer from abusive practices.

According to the statistical report issued by the Prisoners' Society, Israel is still detaining 7 female prisoners in Hasharoun. Some of them have spent more than 10 years in detention.

167 children aged 16-18 , and 43 children under 16 are currently held in Israeli jails.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Society condemned the continued detention of minors and called for their immediate release. The organization also appealed to international institutions and rights groups to help put an end to the policy of arresting children as it marks a grave violation of international law.

The Palestinian prisoners said in its report that Israel also detains 250 administrative detainees. The number dropped from 350 after the mass hunger strike conducted this spring by Palestinian inmates in Israeli jails.
