On Thursday, 19th, Israeli occupation authorities decided to release the head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Dr. Aziz Dweik.
Dweik's office said that the Israeli authorities would release him from the Israeli prison of Ofer on Thursday, July 19th.
The Israeli military court informed Dweik's lawyer, Fadi al-Qawasmi, of its approval to stop the renewal of Dweik's detention after he finishes his six months administrative detention.
Six months ago, al-Qawasmi submitted a request asking for the release of Dweik due to his wife's health dangerous condition; she has cancer and was transferred to Jordan for treatment.
Israeli forces arrested Aziz Dweik on 19/1/2012 at Jaba checkpoint, north of Jerusalem, while he was coming from Ramallah. The Israeli authorities issued a decision to put him in administrative detention for six months.
Israeli forces still hold 21 other MPs under administrative detention, and two of these MPs are still in the interrogation centre in al-Moskobiyeh.
