On Friday, the United States of America called for the immediate resumption of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that were ended on Wednesday in Jordan, without any progress.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Victoria Noland, said in a press release, "It's not surprising that both sides need some time to rest and rethink things. But we hope that it won't take long, and that they resume their negotiations quickly. That's what we call on them to do."
Noland said that the Israelis and Palestinians in the exploratory meetings were able to "exchange their points of view about their positions" describing the meetings as "useful."
Israel submitted in Amman, a paper with 21 points that Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas, refused and called worthless. Israel and the PA said that the results of Amman's meetings do not call for a resumption of the negotiations, which failed at the end of 2010, because Israel did not cease settlement.
It has been mentioned that Amman's meetings came as an attempt from the Quartet to push forward the peace process that was hindered since September 2010.
On 26th of October, the Quartet asked the two parties to submit within three months, detailed suggestions about the two issues, Lands and Security. The Quartet hoped that this would lead to resume negotiations and reach an agreement within a year. The Palestinian side assured that they submitted their suggestions, but Israel didn't respond to them.
