A woman and her husband were wounded after a Molotov cocktail was hurled at their vehicle near Tekoa in Gush Etzion on Friday, Yediot Ahranot newspaper reported.
The newspaper added, the woman sustained light to moderate wounds while the man was lightly injured. They were treated at the scene and then taken to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. The vehicle was burned down.
According to the newspaper, the incident occurred just hours after US Secretary of State John Kerry made a statement warning of an escalation in the political situation on the ground, the possibility of a 3rd Intifada (Uprising) and the international isolation of Israel, if the latter insisted on the continuation of settlement construction in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Israeli settlers, including leaders of settler's groups, such as Women in Green chaired by Nadia Matar said that this attack came with the encouragement of Kerry who said, "the alternative to getting back to the talks is the potential of chaos."
Matar bares Kerry full responsibility for the attack, saying that the United States is reiterating its blare policy against Israel and it seems that the US is preparing to betray the Jewish people. She stressed that the Israeli people and army are now able to stand against the attacks and protect themselves.
