On Tuesday, 31st of July, Israeli Special Units shot a 19-year old Palestinian Ziyad Mohammad Kamel Eklil in the leg during a military operation in al-Baiada and al-Masrara area, west of Hebron.
Ekhlil was admitted to al-Ahli hospital in Hebron and had a surgery.
More than 30 soldiers, wearing masks, raided the house of Mahmoud Ayyad Awad, 56, searched it, assaulted its residents and verbally abused the girls who were at home, which led to a fight between the family members and the occupation forces.
The soldiers arrested Mahmoud Awad and his 28-year old son Ibrahim and took them to the nearby settlement Karmi Tsor. Both were brutally beaten as the soldiers attempted to force them to summon Awad's second son, a 22-yeard ol Mohammad. The men refused to bring him.
200 soldiers participated in the military operation; they arrested Jalal Mohammad Men'im Abu Ayash, 19, and Mohammad Imad Sa'di Ekhlil, 18, severely beat the Palestinian Basem Mohammad Yousef al-Alami and threw him in a hole. They also assaulted Wael Yousef Zeidan Men'im Abu Ayash, and severely beat him.
Confrontations in the village lasted for long hours; the Israeli forces fired live ammunition and rubber bullets, sound and gas bombs and stun grenades which caused several suffocation cases among the Palestinians.
