On Wednesday, the National Popular Palestinian conference in Jerusalem condemned the Israeli authorities for imposing regulations that prevent the journalist and the social activist, Rasim Obeidat, from entering into the West Bank, where he works, or leaving Jerusalem without a permit, in a press release.

The Israeli police summoned Rasim Obeidat to its headquarters in Jerusalem, and handed him the prevention order, accompanied by a map that shows the roads he might use.

Obeidat also works in Beit Sahour in the National Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities.

The conference considered this Israeli violation that regulates Obeidat's freedom of work and movement, as one of the Israeli attacks and harassments that were intensified in the recent months on Jerusalemites and the Civil Society's activists. These harassments aim to silence the Palestinian voice and hide the realities of the Israeli crimes and practices on the Palestinian Territories, especially in Jerusalem.

In the same framework, the National Popular conference of Jerusalem confirmed that this Israeli procedure violates the international conventions and laws, which guarantee the citizens' freedom to work and move easily. The conference calls on the international institutions to take a firm attitude and intervene to stop these violations.

Obeidat will, through a lawyer, appeal against the Israeli decision that aim to evacuate Jerusalem from its leaders and fighters.
