Issawi: The memory of Mavi Marmara remains strong in the minds of Palestinians

The office of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Gaza, Osama al-Issawi, issued a press release on the second anniversary of the IDF commandeering of the Turkish flotilla the Mavi Marmara. Al-Issawi. In it, Issawi asserted that the memory of the massacre is still fresh in the minds of Palestinians, and that they hold in the Turkish government and people in the utmost respect.

Issawi praised Turkish support of human rights and the continuing efforts of the Turks to lift the siege on Gaza and support the Palestinian people politically and financially.

Issawi also said that the ministry will issue postage stamps in the month of July commemorating the event as a symbol of loyalty to the victims of the Mavi Marmara and their families.

Meanwhile in the Turkish capital of Istanbul, a large parade commemorating the event is set to take place Thrusday. 9 Turkish citizens were killed in the incident.
