A Released Female Prisoner Attempts to Set Herself Alight in Central Ramallah

On Thursday 20th September, Abeer Odeh, a Palestianian prisoner who was released following the Gilad Shalit swap deal, tried to set herself alight at al-Manara circle, in central Ramallah. Palestinian police that were present at the square intervened and took Odeh to the police headquarters.
The 30 year-old released prisoner used a fuel to set herself on fire, as she was protesting against the high cost of living and high prices in the Palestinian market. Few weeks ago Hussein Qahoji also tried to set himself and his daughter on fire for the same reason.
The released prisoner is an officer in the National Security Service.
