On Friday 17th August, thousands of Israeli police spread out in Jerusalem, particularly around al-Aqsa mosque, in preparation for the 'orphan' Friday prayer in the holy month of Ramadan.

Muslim men above the age of 40 from the West Bank and women of all ages are allowed to enter Jerusalem without needing Israeli permits.

The police will not impose any restrictions on the entry of Muslims from Jerusalem to al-Aqsa, according to an Israeli army radio broadcast.
