Today, 23rd May, Egyptians are voting in their first ever free and fair presidential elections. It is 15 months since former president, Hosni Mubarak, was ousted during the Arab Spring uprising.

About 50 million people are eligible to vote and if there is no clear winner, then a run-off will take place in mid-June. There are 13 candidates ranging from old regime figures to Islamists and independent secularists.
