The UN coordinator for the peace process, Robert Serry, believed that the continued construction of Israeli settlements in West Bank contraries to the international law.

Serry made his declarations during a speech at the Security Council whereby he replied to the legalization act recommended by the judge, Advond Levy, which considers that the creation of the settlements in the West Bank doesn't represent a breach of the international law.

Moreovre, Serry confirmed that the Quartet had again and again expressed its opposition to each step which affects the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Also, the ambassadors of the United States and France to the United Nations had expressed their regret about the legalization Act of the settlements.

For his part, the Palestinian ambassador, Riyad Mansour, said "Don't expect that the Palestinians will go directly to the negotiations in light of the continued establishment of settlements.''
