The photos presented are part of the on-going project Interstice. Life in the Firing Zone 918, a documentary about life in Masafer Yatta, in the South Hebron Hills.

Conceived as an artistic-ethnographic project, Interstice is a photo series about the cave-dwelling communities of Masafer Yatta and their unique way of life, their challenges and their transformations in a changing landscape.

For over a year, photographer Eduardo Soteras has been spending extended periods of time based in Khirbeit At-Tuba, experiencing life in the community.

Soteras opened the exhibition in the AIC in May 2012, presenting a short lecture about the photos and conducting a Q&A session with the audience. The AIC wishes to continue its support of this project; to view the photos online please click on the following link:
