IOF demolish staircase leading to Lions’ Gate

PNN/ Jerusalem/

Israeli occupation municipality on Sunday demolished the stairs leading to the Lions’ Gate (Bab Al-Asbat) which leads to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the occupation municipality demolished the stairs leading to the Yusufia cemetery and the Al-Asbat Gate road, which leads to Al-Aqsa.

The sources pointed out that the citizens confronted the occupation municipality crews while they were trying to dig in the martyrs’ cemetery, which is an extension of the Yusufia cemetery from the northern side.

The sources indicated that the razing is part of the occupation’s Judaizing plans in the Holy City and in an attempt to implement the “biblical garden path” inside the cemetery of the martyrs.

Since the beginning of this year, the occupation has forced more than twenty Jerusalemites to self-demolish their homes under the pretext of lack of permission and after threatening to pay heavy fines if the demolition is carried out.
