Palestinian rights activist Arif Darghameh revealed Israeli plans to house 30 settler families in the Shu’ayr camp, which is located in the northern Jordan Valley.

Darghameh said that this project is the first step to turn the camp into a new settlement in the region.

The camp dates back to the beginning of the 1950s, when Jordanian forces established it on a piece of land in the area.

It remained there until the Naksa in 1967, after which it came under Israeli occupation control.
