Fire celebrations at the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem despite the occupation’s oppression

Palestinian Christians celebrate the glorious Easter holiday, following the commemoration the Saturday of Light yesterday; in which “a light emanates within Jesus Christ’s tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher” in occupied Jerusalem.

Afterwards, this light is circulated to Christians from around the globe who traveled to the capital of the state of Palestine, East Jerusalem, and waited patiently inside and outside the Church of Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem’s old city for the “holy light” to descend on the church. As the main destination of Christian Pilgrimage for all Christians around the world.

The Ministry and the Palestinian diplomatic corps headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, His Excellency Mr. Riyad Al-Malki, extend their warmest congratulations and blessings to the Christians of Palestine, wherever they are and to all Christians in this holy holiday, reminding the world that Palestine is the cradle of Christianity.

Palestinian Christians are an integral part of the cultural, national and social identity of the Palestinian society.

The Ministry emphasizes that this holy light emanating from Occupied Jerusalem, specifically from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher that experiences daily oppression and continuous repressive measures targeting the Christian and Islamic holy sites.

The ministry believes it is strange that the whole world came to celebrate this holy light and ignored the continuous
attempts by the occupation to suppress it; in which the world overlooked the suffering of Palestinians living in the holy land by the extreme Israeli settlers occupying the holy land.
