The West Jerusalem Israeli municipality on Tuesday demolished a Palestinian-owned home in Jabal al-Mukkaber town, and a shop in Beit Hanina neighborhood, East Jerusalem, under the pretext of having no building permit.
The homeowner, Hamza Shalloudi, said the demolition took place without prior notice, adding that his lawyer succeeded in getting a court order to stop the demolition but only after most of the house was in ruins.
The family was forced out of the house and that only part of the furniture was salvaged before the demolition, WAFA reported.
In addition, the municipality bulldozers also demolished a shop in Beit Hanina neighborhood after police cordoned off the area.
On Tuesday as well, occupation authorities handed out demolition orders for commercial structures and a school in Silwad town, north of Ramallah, without any apparent reasons for demolition.
