Egypt bars 74 Palestinians from traveling at Rafah crossing

The Egyptian authorities barred 74 Palestinian citizens from traveling through the Rafah border crossing on the first two days of its opening.

However, 1,898 passengers were able to travel through the crossing in both directions last Monday and Tuesday, 14 and 15 November, according the Palestinian border and crossing authority in Gaza.

On Tuesday, 44 passengers were denied travel by the Egyptian authorities for unknown reasons, but 906 people were allowed to leave Gaza and 332 others came from Egypt.

The Egyptian authorities last Sunday told the Palestinian side in Gaza that it would open the crossing for five days as of Monday for the travel of people with humanitarian cases, stranded passengers and students.
