The Hague, The Netherlands. 24th June, 2016. 60 Palestinian prisoners in Megiddo prison are carrying out a hunger strike protest to demand freedom for Bilal Kayed, Palestinian prisoner held under Israeli administrative detention and on hunger strike in Ramon prison. Over 100 international and Palestinian organizations have called for actions in support of Kayed’s freedom on 24 and 25 June; hundreds of prisoners will be conducting a two-day hunger strike protest on those days. Also they said that the Dutch state pension for illegal settlers goes against international and Dutch law. They demand an end to the support for the colonization and occupation of Palestine. Prisoners to lead one-day hunger strike in Solidarity with strikers

Palestinian prisoners in four Israeli jails have decided to go on a one-day hunger strike next Tuesday  in Solidarity with the hunger strikers and in protest at Israeli measures against them.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, prisoners in the jails of Nafha, Ramon, Negev and Hadarim announced that their one-day hunger strike would be held to express solidarity with other hunger strikers as well as to protest their own families’ failure to cross Israeli checkpoints to visit them recently and to demand their jailers to allow them to watch some Palestinian channels.

According to PIC, 108 Palestinian prisoners have already staged a mass solidarity hunger strike in support of six hunger strikers protesting their exposure to administrative detention and solitary confinement. The six hunger strikers are Bilal Kayed, Mohamed al-Balboul, Mahmoud al-Balboul, Ayyad al-Huraimi, Malik al-Qadi, Walid Masalma.
